We Love Carrot


Carrot is one of vegetables that contents high vitamin A. It is delicious vegetable consumed raw or processed into kind of certain foods (soup, pudding, puree, etc.) Some studies reveal that carrot has a high nutrient content which is good for health. Carrot contains beta-carotene and vitamin C which is good enough to make high antioxidant. Carrot also contains folic acid, calcium, manganese, phosphorus, chromium, iron, zinc, and of course fiber. 

My husband dan my son really love carrot. I always provide raw carrot sticks and store them in the refrigerator. Anytime they want them, they can just grab and eat them easily. Carrot is a healthy snack that inexpensive. In addition carrot has really good nutrition for  eyes and body.


Here are some health benefits of carrot: 

Carrots are rich in beta-carotene (vitamin A), it is the essential nutrients required by the eye. This compound is not able to cure blindness, but it can improve the condition of the eyes due to lack of vitamin A. The antioxidants can prevent cataracts and macular degeneration that often afflict the elderly.

The study by Robertson et al showed those who ate 200 g of raw carrots every day for 3 weeks, his cholesterol dropped by 11%. So is the research conducted at Harvard University, USA. Those who eat carrots 5 times/week, lowering the risk of stroke by 68%. While research at the University of Brussels known vitamin A contained in carrots can prevent disability and death from stroke.

Research conducted Marilyn Menkes, Ph.D. at the State University of New York shows the low levels of beta-carotene which the body at risk for lung cancer. Therefore, he recommends that smokers consume carrots and other foods high carotene to prevent lung cancer. Apparently, in addition to lung kaknker, beta-carotene and other compounds also are antioxidants in carrots can prevent cancer of the mouth, throat, stomach, intestines, urinary tract, pancreas, and breast.

Those who often eat carrots, the original skin dry and harden gradually will look healthy and bright. The content of the carrot is also beneficial to increase endurance, accelerate wound healing and inflammation caused by a virus.
