Why Cycling is Good for Us?

What is your favorite activity on weekend? My son and I love to ride bicycle in the morning, especially on weekend. Morning ride makes our inner blood flowing. It wakes up our body. Study has proven than morning rides can create more encouragement. It also can increase our happiness level.

Health benefits of regular cycling:

  • Increased cardiovascular fitness.
  • Increased muscle strength and flexibility.
  • Improved joint mobility.
  • Decreased stress levels.
  • Improved posture and coordination.
  • Strengthened bones.
  • Decreased body fat levels.
  • Prevention or management of disease.

By the way, who invented the bicycle?

Let me tell you a short history of the bicycle. Some people think the bicycle made by the Italian artist and inventor Leonardo da Vinci who lived in the late 1400s and early 1500s. A German baron named Karl von Drais made the first major development when he created a steerable, two-wheeled contraption in 1817. This early invention has made Drais widely acknowledged as the father of the bicycle. In 1839, a Scottish blacksmith named Kirkpatrick Macmillan added pedals to a two-wheeled. It had wooden wheels. Inventors tried to make better bicycles. Bicycles in the 1870s had huge front wheels and tiny back wheels. The safety bicycle was invented in the late 1800s. Both wheels were the same size, so it was easy to ride. (Microsoft Encyclopedia 2007)

Nowadays, bicycling then becomes very popular. There are different kind of bicycles, such as; touring, mountain, hybrid, utility, racing, and specialty bicycles. I have two type of bicycles; mountain bike (MTB) and BMX bicycle.

Mountain bikes are for riding off-road on dirt trails. The frame of a mountain bicycle is usually smaller and stronger than a touring bicycle frame. Most mountain bikes have flat handlebars. They have wide, knobby tires for going over rocks. They have a large selection of gears. Some mountain bikes have shock absorbents. Springs attached to the front or rear wheels make it easier to go over big bumps.

Bicycle-motocross (BMX) bicycles are modeled after dirt bike motorcycles. BMXs are popular among young people. Freestyle stunt bicycles have very strong frames and handlebars. Stunt bikes can spin completely around. Can I do the same thing? LOL

Whatever your type of bike is. Kim Chronister, PsyD, a psychologist said that when we ride, we get a spike in neurochemicals such as serotonin and dopamine that relieve pain and improve mood. We also get a hit of endorphins which can trigger the same receptors in our brain as some pain medicines. Wow! That's really good, isn't it?

So, let's do this! Cycling is so much fun!

Praktis ramah lingkungan, bikin sehat.

Father and Son: Building Bonds

As a mom, there's nothing quite as heartwarming as watching the special bond between my son and his dad unfold. Lately, their quality time has evolved into a full-blown workshop, and it's been an absolute blast to witness. From the rhythmic clanking of wrenches to the quiet concentration over tiny circuits, their shared passions are creating some truly unforgettable memories and some pretty cool projects too. So,  let me tell you all about the incredible, grease-stained, and glue-covered world of my favorite father-son duo! Gearing Up: Motorcycle Mechanic Masters-in-Training! My son absolutely lights up when his dad pulls out the tools for a bit of two-wheeled maintenance. This isn't just about "fixing" something; it's a full-on lesson in mechanical stuff. They start with the basics. My son learns about the pads, the calipers, and the importance of a properly functioning braking system for safety. He gets to see how all those parts work together. But it’s not ...

Teaching English for Young Learners

(Personal doc.) Teaching English language to Indonesian young learners, especially those around kindergarten age and elementary student can be quite challenging. Teaching always has been becoming my favorite thing since long time ago, this is what I'm passionate about. I've been teaching since I graduated from University. Starting in 2011, I had the privilege of teaching English to students from 3rd to 12th grade at a prestigious institution. I truly loved every minute of it. Teaching looks simple, isn't it? You won't say that until you try it by yourself. You need extra skill when teaching English to kids. so, here are things you need to concern:

More Than Just Petals: Flower Arranging is My Happy Place

Hey there, flower lovers! As someone who absolutely adores flowers, I wanted to chat a bit today about something that brings me so much joy. It's flower arranging! Seriously, my happy place involves a vase and some fresh blooms. Now, you might be thinking, "Isn't it just, like, sticking flowers in a vase?" And while, yes, that's technically part of it, there's so much more to it than meets the eye. It's a creative outlet, a mood booster, and honestly, a pretty skill to have in your back pocket.
