More Than Just Petals: Flower Arranging is My Happy Place

Hey there, flower lovers!

As someone who absolutely adores flowers, I wanted to chat a bit today about something that brings me so much joy. It's flower arranging! Seriously, my happy place involves a vase and some fresh blooms.

Now, you might be thinking, "Isn't it just, like, sticking flowers in a vase?" And while, yes, that's technically part of it, there's so much more to it than meets the eye. It's a creative outlet, a mood booster, and honestly, a pretty skill to have in your back pocket.

So, Let me count the ways!

First, there's the creative satisfaction with petals and stems. You get to play with colors, textures, and shapes, creating something truly unique and beautiful. There's no right or wrong way to do it, and that freedom is incredibly liberating. It's amazing to see a handful of individual flowers transform into a stunning centerpiece or a charming little bouquet that brightens up a corner of your home.

Then there's the mindfulness factor. When I'm arranging flowers, I'm completely in the moment. It's almost meditative. You're observing the delicate curves of a rose petal, the diverse range of colors of aster, the way different stems naturally lean. This focus can be incredibly calming and helps to de-stress after a long day.

And speaking of stress, flower arranging can be a fantastic mood booster. Surrounding yourself with natural beauty has a profound effect on our well-being. A fresh bouquet can instantly uplift a room and, in turn, uplift your spirits. There's just something about the freshness and vibrancy of flowers that brings a sense of joy and tranquility. Plus, the act of creating something beautiful for your home can give you a real sense of accomplishment.

It's also a great way to connect with nature, even if you're living in a bustling city. You're handling natural elements, appreciating their ephemeral beauty, and bringing a piece of the outdoors inside. It reminds you of the simple wonders of the world and the continuous cycle of life.

Finally, let's not forget the aesthetic appeal. A well-arranged bouquet can transform any space. It adds a touch of elegance, warmth, and personality to your home. Whether it's a grand display for a special occasion or a simple arrangement to brighten your everyday, flowers just make everything look and feel better.

So, if you've ever felt a tug towards those gorgeous blooms at the market, I highly encourage you to give flower arranging a try. Grab a few of your favorite flowers, a vase you love, and just start playing around. There are tons of tutorials online if you want some guidance, but honestly, the best way to learn is to just dive in and experiment.

Trust me, your home (and your soul!) will thank you for it.

Happy arranging, everyone! What are your favorite flowers to work with? Let me know in the comments below!

  2. Oh yes, there are more and more flower sellers now that can arrange flowers directly, selling them on the roadside or during car-free days. I also like to buy by choosing a few of my favorite flowers, and the seller will help decorate them. When I get home, I can put them in a vase.

Keep The Children Healthy during Ramadan

Shaum/Sawm is one of The Five Pillars of Islam. Ramadan (a complete fasting), we do the fast for about 29 or 30 days in a row. It is the Holy Month for Muslims. Those twelve years old and above must complete their fast from dawn to sunset.  I've started to teach my child to fast from the last two years when he was 6 years old, even he's just done his first fast for only a couple hours, at least he tried. There are many even as young as four or five are encouraged to fast for a few hours a day during Ramadan by their parents. It's to begin appreciating the significance of the Holy month of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah , I'm very grateful, this Ramadan my son now is 8 years old and so excited about following Ramadan completely.

Father and Son: Building Bonds

As a mom, there's nothing quite as heartwarming as watching the special bond between my son and his dad unfold. Lately, their quality time has evolved into a full-blown workshop, and it's been an absolute blast to witness. From the rhythmic clanking of wrenches to the quiet concentration over tiny circuits, their shared passions are creating some truly unforgettable memories and some pretty cool projects too. So,  let me tell you all about the incredible, grease-stained, and glue-covered world of my favorite father-son duo! Gearing Up: Motorcycle Mechanic Masters-in-Training! My son absolutely lights up when his dad pulls out the tools for a bit of two-wheeled maintenance. This isn't just about "fixing" something; it's a full-on lesson in mechanical stuff. They start with the basics. My son learns about the pads, the calipers, and the importance of a properly functioning braking system for safety. He gets to see how all those parts work together. But it’s not ...
