Student Self Presenting at School

School is the best place to learn, make friends, and play together. Vito is still in kindergarten now, but in the next few months he's going to enter a primary school. Alhamdulillah, he’s been officially accepted in one of Islamic private schools in Bandung.

Bintang and Vito
At his school now, so many things're done for stimulating children's creativity, one of them is with holding the SSP (Student Self Presenting) every three months.

In the previous term, Vito class (Cow class) featuring a dance types of animals, accompanied by the song which also includes the voices of animals that represented by each student. They made their own animals' masks, helped by their class teacher named Ms. Eti. She is very creative in helping children develop good skills in academic and art.

Vito played as a cow, and he made a very good mask. Improving children's creativity is very effective in a fun way. The SSP which held by RA HAMKA on each term is very memorable for both parents and students as well. Each class always show their best performances.

Keep The Children Healthy during Ramadan

Shaum/Sawm is one of The Five Pillars of Islam. Ramadan (a complete fasting), we do the fast for about 29 or 30 days in a row. It is the Holy Month for Muslims. Those twelve years old and above must complete their fast from dawn to sunset.  I've started to teach my child to fast from the last two years when he was 6 years old, even he's just done his first fast for only a couple hours, at least he tried. There are many even as young as four or five are encouraged to fast for a few hours a day during Ramadan by their parents. It's to begin appreciating the significance of the Holy month of Ramadan. Alhamdulillah , I'm very grateful, this Ramadan my son now is 8 years old and so excited about following Ramadan completely.

Stay-at-Home Activity Ideas During COVID-19

We're now in the middle of global pandemic. 😢 March, 2, 2020 President Jokowi has announced that two Indonesians have tested positive for COVID-19, it's the first two confirmed in our country. He calls all Indonesian people to stay at home; self isolation and social distancing.  Corona virus is a serious infectious disease. What can you do to protect yourself, reduce corona virus infection, and prevent spreading the virus to others : Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds with soap and water or alcohol-based hand rub. Eat healthy food and don't forget to cook meat or fish thoroughly.  Drink water, take vitamins or supplements.  Do some home exercises to keep your body healthy. Cover mouth when coughing or sneezing with flexed elbow. Avoid close contact with anyone with cold/flu like symptoms. Do not touch your our eyes, nose, face, or mouth if our hands are not clean. Stay home, social distancing, and self-isolate from others if we feel unwell....

Teaching Our Children about Ramadan

Alhamdulillah, Allah still gives us the opportunity to meet the holy month of Ramadan 1437 H. When a Muslim reaches mature age, he/she should have fast and other ibadah  in Ramadan. As parents, we need to train our kids to fast and give them the meaning of Ramadan which the rewards and benefits are very plentiful. I started to introduce my son about Ramadan when he was about 4 years old.
